It covers the Soviet Union’s growing opposition to Alexander Dubček’s reforms, the military occupation by Warsaw Pact forces, civilian resistance and protests, the arrest of Czechoslovak leaders, and the forced Moscow Protocol. The episode also examines the long-term consequences of the invasion, including the permanent presence of Soviet troops, Dubček’s replacement by Gustáv Husák, and the beginning of the Normalization period marked by renewed censorship, political purges, and repression.
